Spaghetti Bolognese
Ingredients
- 1 tblspn cooking oil
- 150g mince lamb
- 1 carrot
- 1 onion
- 1 tbsp tomato puree
- ½ tspn dried mixed herbs
- a bay leaf
- ½ tin tomatoes
- 1 stock cube
- ½ tbsp flour
- 125ml water
Method
- Heat the cooking oil
- Fry the mince gently, stiring till browned
- Stir in vegetables
- Stir in tomato puree, herbs, bay leaf, tomatoes and stock cube
- Cook for 5 minutes
- Stir in flour and add water
- Bring to boil
- Turn down to simmer
- Cover and simmer for 15 minutes
- Cook spaghetti for 10 minutes in boiling water
- Remove the bay leaf before serving
I think I once made this vegetarian by using green lentils instead of lamb mince. Make sure the lentils are cooked! They will absorb a lot of water.
