Spaghetti Bolognese

Method

  1. Heat the cooking oil
  2. Fry the mince gently, stiring till browned
  3. Stir in vegetables
  4. Stir in tomato puree, herbs, bay leaf, tomatoes and stock cube
  5. Cook for 5 minutes
  6. Stir in flour and add water
  7. Bring to boil
  8. Turn down to simmer
  9. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes
  10. Cook spaghetti for 10 minutes in boiling water
  11. Remove the bay leaf before serving

I think I once made this vegetarian by using green lentils instead of lamb mince. Make sure the lentils are cooked! They will absorb a lot of water.
